Cannot wait for AAP decision to be out

Nothing, as far as he/she can tell. So teachers see kids who are stressed in elementary needlessly because the parents are determined to "take advantage of a great FCPS program" even if it isn't the best idea for their kid. Sometimes (not always) teachers see things that parents don't and it makes them sad and irritable. FWIW. I run a preschool and you would absolutely NOT believe what percentage of parents tell us how incredibly advanced their kids are and how they need additional attention to meet their academic needs. Guess how many kids are actually advanced beyond their peers? maybe 1 in 10 of those who tell us their kids are. It's a joke to us. A sad, sad state of affairs.

Even if you're right about the teacher's frustration, do you think she was effective in getting her point a cross, given her snarky delivery? I'm guessing no. I doubt most people are really receptive to any advice that ends with "get a life!"

Many people post venting and snarky posts here -- not just that one "FCPS teacher."

I've had 2 kids at the center AAP in elementary. Our kids were not stressed one bit. They're not doing Calculus in ES. Seriously. It's actually the same program of studies as gen Ed, with some additions for more in depth learning. And we had a little homework, but maybe 30 minutes worth a night. If your child is stressed at ES AAP, something is wrong.

Everyone needs to realize that we are all strangers on the internet. No one knows if someone actually is a "FCPS teacher," ran into the Superintendent at the grocery store, or whether our kids *really* are in AAP.

I'm so jealous of the people who already know.

I honestly doubt people know. I think they are trying to imply if you weren't told, your child didn't get in.

You would be wrong. I was speaking to my child's classroom teacher Friday on an unrelated issue. They let me know my child was in. The schools and teachers all knew last week who was in.

Some schools 're people verbally before letters go out, and some don't. I don't think pp who already heard was trying to imply that if you weren't told, your child didn't get in.

Is it a good idea to ask the teacher?

Post a positive and helpful response. If you can't do so, do not post anything.
Nobody wants to listen to your negative stuff.

What is so funny is that this poster (bolded above) is posting on this thread, too! Ha ha! I'm guessing she was exactly the same way when she was waiting. I'm sure she'll deny it but we all know that you're on this particular thread because you felt the same way, will be feeling the same way when your kids are of age, would feel this same way if your kid had a shot at entry, or actually do feel this way now.
