I kind of hate watch it, not sure I'd say I love it lol

+1, also 31 here. For me it's the second hand embarrassment. I guess I'm too old to relate to their struggles but not old enough to be able to just laugh about it? |
OP here - also 47! A very immature 47. Did anyone see last night's episode? (Of Girls, not Younger) Hannah - why does Lena Dunham feel the need to constantly take off her clothes? Not a prude at all, but I find her exhibitionism to be bizarre. Also bizarre - Adam, with his constant grunting and weird vocal affectations. Though I do think he and Jessa make a great couple. Weirdness personified. Shoshanna - she fits in perfectly to the pop-art, Harajuku-like element of Tokyo.

| the first episode this season was hysterical. laugh out loud funny. then the second was more boring crap about ray's coffee shop and hannah crying about her gay dad. we need more marnie and shosh!! |
|
^^^Forgot to mention, I love, love, love Ray. He's my hero and I hope he finds a woman worthy of him.
Also love Elijah. Completely hysterical. |
Ha, you meant to point to your own post but instead pointed to mine about Ray. I can't stand him - so mopey. I agree about Elijah - I smile every time I see him. |
+1 41. I could never quite put my finger on why I watched this show but you have summed it up perfectly! Thanks! |
| Ancient one here, at 55. |
| Uh what was with Hannah full frontal in the more recent ep? None of these guys would go for her - she's repulsive. And before someone says it is her weight - it's not. It's her general slovenliness. |
Disagree. I knew plenty of Hannah types in college, no problem getting guys. |
The other 47 year old here. I loved this week's episode. The male characters had a lot of funny lines this week. And the writing credits were Jenni Konner the older, female writing partner. I think that was why. But its all great. Sometimes I hate Ray and wish he would either speak faster or just shut up. Or get slapped by someone and run away, never to appear on screen again. But I know this is an extreme response to a fictional character / one poor actor who doesn't deserve the abuse. Love Adam, and all the others, including his weird sister. |

I'm 35. I enjoy it. I used to live in NYC and like seeing the locations they feature. The writing and acting is strong, the music is great, and I really like Lena Dunham. Shosh is generally annoying but I enjoyed this most recent ep with her in Japan - actually it made me want to visit Japan someday.
I know Marnie is supposed to be the great beauty in the cast but I can't get over how good Jessa looks in recent episodes. She is just glowing. I think she and Adam make a great couple. |
There are at least two of us...I'm also older and love Girls. Lena Dunham is 100% nuts, but very fun
|
I was thinking that about Jessa too. Not sure what's with her but she looks lovely. And Lena Dunham is just gross. The hair, the clothes, the attitude - ugh. |
Agree. When she holed up with that doctor a couple of seasons ago it was over the top ridiculous. Lena Dunham has come out as saying that she is "done with Photoshopping" because it is unrealistic. Agreed, but so are the men she chooses to pair with Hannah in Girls. It's Photoshopping via character choice; unrealistically flattering. |
