Napa Valley wine train racism and the issue of "white space"

Ok- now there is something to add. Thanks for posting this. Boy, the guardian super sucks.
I still stand by what I said about fucking red hat ladies. Bunch of old whores.

What some of y'all dont realize is that (1) it was primarily the advocacy of ONE white woman who got them thrown from the train (2) many people on the train, including WHITES who were on the train were outraged that these women were thrown off and put it on social media almost immediately and (3) the company has already said that it was wrong for them to be thrown off.

I have been on this very train and it is NOT a church service. It is pretty loud and buzzy!

The problem is that:

A) "Social mores" in this context is synonymous with "White social mores" and

B) Other people on the train at the same time claim the women were no louder than any other group

Very very true.

We do NOT live in boisterous Nigeria.

Solution? Easy peasy. Choose where you want to live.

What's up with people reposting old racial articles as new?

For what it's worth, I don't like to go to movie theaters with blacks since they talk so much.

Nope. Totally the correct take away.

"The women of the reading group, who concede that they were quite loud and boisterous but point out that they did tell the company they were a big group in advance, said they were first warned about their “offensive” laughter before the train had even pulled out of the station in Napa."

In public, one person's freedom extends only as far as another's.

Case dismissed in favor of the defendants.

Uh, so you're saying that the women acted like they were in Nigeria? So I take it you've been to Nigeria and you know for certain that these women acted like they were Nigerians? And I take it you're trying to say that they should move to Nigeria because of how they laugh?

That's got to be one of the more incoherent statements I've seen on DCUM today.

There isn't a problem with white social mores. I don't go into black baptist churches and expect them to praise as they do a a quiet white Presbyterian. When in Rome dude.

Maybe they were loud and annoying - maybe they weren't. Not worth speculating about.

Possibly the most racist thing I have read on DCUM and that is saying something

Yes, it sounds like that one poster thinks that black people should only act "black" when they're off with their own but the rest of the time they should make sure that all us fragile white anglo-saxon protestants are not made to feel uncomfortable.

it is rude to be loud and obnoxious in a public setting no matter what the color of the skin of the individuals involved. It sound like you are the one with a racial issue.

The women were drinking wine and indeed boisterous. They were disturbing the other passengers. The train officials asked them three times to pipe down, especially the foul language, but they didn't. If it had been an all white football team doing the same, I would have made the same complaint. I want to enjoy my wine trip into the country, not listen to others shrieking and yelling.
