Israelis singing: "There's no school tomorrow, there's no children left there [in Gaza]! Oleh!"

And you can express your surprise when instead of the tolerant peaceful Pslestinian people you envision you see honor killings, gay people swinging from cranes, and oppressed women like you do in other Muslim countries

Oooh, so Palestinians don't deserve human rights because they're Muslims...

Real winning argument you have there.

These are the equivalent of Westboro Baptist Church. To even believe these folk are representative of all Israelis is laughable.

That said, have you seen the videos of Palestinians rushing to the rooftops of buildings with their kids after Israel warned them to evacuate?

Good lord. You can't even condemn this awfulness. You just try and use some "oh, but have you seen the Palestinians?" distraction. You don't seem very different than these subhuman monsters.

Not PP but I think describing them as Westboro-esque is a pretty strong condemnation.

The point is that individual pictures or videos mean pretty much nothing. No one is saying there isnt a lot of hatred on both sides and it shouldnt come as a surprise to any of us. And none of us Americans - Jewish or Arab or Muslim - know what its like to live under the constant threat of missiles or under a blockade. So lets leave the judgment to the people actually in this war and our armchair analysis of individuals videos where it belongs, to ourselves.

+1. I would tend to view defiance in the face of a meaningless order to evacuate my home (since there is no safe place in Gaza anyway) differently than celebration of the death of hundreds of children, but apparently you don't. And no need to come up with comparisons to nut-job Christians in Kansas. They are Jews praising deaths inflicted by Jews.

They forgot History and the horrors in the camps. They are acting like nazis.

What a load of crap. People hate the Israeli thugs and this video will be seen around the world. This isn't Gaza so stop thinking you can control everyone and everything here, too.

I recognize they are extremists. Getting emotional over stupidity is not my scene.

It is more than collective amnesia. It is a learned response from their former oppressors. The palestinians, who were never their oppressors at any point in history are at the receiving end

This.

I know it's incredibly common for the abused to become abusers themselves, the bullied to become the bullies. But I am appalled at the collective amnesia that serves as the operating mantra in so much of Israeli society.

Though these 20+ year old asshole soldiers were never oppressed-they live well in Israel-very well.

Clearly those are terrible people. You can just as easily see Palestinians rejoicing over the death of Jewish Israelis. There's hate on both sides and one can only hope moderates on each side will eventually prevail. To quote the musical South Pacific "you have to be carefully taught." To those that don't know the song, it's about how you can't be racist unless someone carefully taught you to be that way. The whole situation is sad sad sad.

The Jewish community so consumed with self pity over the holocaust and the other times they were persecuted in history that they are unable to see that many many peoples have been displaced, persecuted, attacked and oppressed throughout history. Theirs is not the unique case or the worst. However, the memory of their tragedies is kept alive like no other race has been able to and it colors how they perceive tragedy any one else might be going through. "It could never be as bad is it has been for the Jews."

To have compassion, to have understanding you have to first get over wallowing and feeling persecuted, count your blessing and then see that others are less fortunate and therefore have to make different choices

So palestinians post something appalling online, and it is representative. Israelis do it and they are fringe.
