Haha. Thanks for the laugh. Isn't there a forum for the super rich to post on? |
Our daycare costs $20K a year. I can easily imagine that many people do not have an extra $20K in disposable income. |
I don't know who perpetuates it, but just because I'm monetarily wealthy doesn't mean I'm not also a regular person who surfs the internet sometimes. I don't sit around having the pool boy fan me while feeding me grapes. Sometimes I'm just the mom sitting in a doctor's waiting office with her kid, like all the other moms. |
| omg, we are so poor. HHI just under $100k. We have two kids, 6 months and 3 years and spend $1200/month on daycare and preschool. We are fortunate that my in-laws really do love taking care of our baby during the day, so she doesn't have to go to day care. We pay them, but not nearly what a high quality infant daycare would cost. |

2 kids - 4 & 4
400K HHI Pay for preschool + au pair = $45K/year. |
|
2 kids, ages 3 and 6
$250k HHI One kid in public school, the other $18k for daycare. |
|
4 kids ages 6, 4, 2, 14 months
HHI 230-240K Childcare= 3800/mos |
|
2 kids, almost 3 and 5 mos.
daycare 3700/mo. HHI 200k. house paid off, otherwise couldn't afford. |
|
HHI is $165k and we have three - twins who are 3 and one 6 month old. Daycare is $3600 a month.
OP, your daycare costs seem low for two kids. |
|
350k-400k (depending on bonuses)
1 child, 6 months old 1,800/month for our portion of nanny share Reasonable mortgage, 100k in student loans |
|
3 kids: infant, 2, and 9
HHI: $240K Daycare and AM SACC: $1350/month |
| 120K - 4 kids. |
|
Why questions?
Many families receive tax return more than the HHI reported receive almost free housing receive free meals at school receive free after school care free head start program for pre-schollers receive food stamps receive free senior day care for their parents medi-k? (sorry can't remember) stay home parent and X number of kids... |
Okay "regular person", news flash: you are not a regular person and your experience and budget advice does not help someone who is making $120K!! |
| When we first had them (2 kids) it was about $300k. Now that they are 6 and 8--it's around $450+k. I WAH which is a savior. They are in public school now--woo hoo--zero tuition!! |
