Ok, we can shut down DCUM now. Because nothing will ever top this post.

Not true. That would cause more harm than good.

More Swedish meatballs for me to eat.

The big problem is that in a fire, if a child gets separated from a parent, that could spell disaster as the parent will probably try to find the child in the maze before exiting.
I agree OP, it is unsafe.

Everything I like is unsafe.

Were the coffins made of particle board?

There was such a fire in the UK, and I remember at the memorial service they read out the names of all those who died, interspersed with the names of the furniture lines that perished:

John
Malm
Bjorn
Trysill
Skogn
Peter

etc. Made it all the more poignant, somehow.

You're kind of an ass. but still hilarious. I like you. Let's be friends.

A family member was there during the earthquake. She said she envisioned being crushed under a billy bookcase.

That seems like an odd thing to stress about. Fires are pretty rare, and don't spread that quickly, especially with sprinklers in place.

I'd be more worried about staying on the 50th floor of a hotel. Much more difficult fire escape situation than Ikea.

No, but the memorial service had to be delayed by 3 days. It took the organizers that long to assemble all of the coffins from those wordless instruction booklets. And they only had one allen wrench.
