How is Chesterbrook neighborhood in Mclean?

Anonymous
Lots of my friends in N. Arlington consider the neighborhood when they want a bigger house or a larger lot than they can get in N. Arl. I hear it is nice, but if diversity is really something you want, you may want to move to PG county.

PG County isn't diverse. It's majority black. Quite homogenous.

Stop it folks. You need to pay a lot of attention to know where Arlington stops and McLean begins in this area (fewer sidewalks, bigger houses and blue/green street signs instead off white) but otherwise it is very, very similar.

I disagree. Chesterbrook is used as a short cut between Kirby, Old Dominion and Westmoreland. It is a very busy neighborhood road.

Also, parts of Chesterbrook gets flooded, so you may need to get flood insurance depending on the location.

Some Alexandria public schools are fairly diverse, and it would be closer to your work. The single family neighborhoods are very homogenous and white however. School quality is not as good as Fairfax County, but there are lots of committed parents and the Alexandria schools are growing.

Very few sidewalks in that part of McLean. But there is growing discontent with the auto-oriented status quo: http://connect-mclean.com/

You are referring to Old Chesterbrook, not Chesterbrook, and there is a section that floods occasionally, but it still gets only a fraction of the traffic of a road like Old Dominion, Glebe or Williamsburg.

I would be happy if there were more sidewalks on the main roads near Chesterbrook ES, but one of the things that makes this area lovely is that it doesn't have the paved-over appearance of some areas, where between the roads, sidewalks, and houses on small lots there is just not very much green space left.

It does have that "rural feeling" that Arlington no longer has.

LOLOL. You're funny. Desperate too.

North Arlington schools are far superior to McLean, which is a system in decline. See the posts about the budget crunch in FFX public schools. Your class sizes exceed 30. Arlington's are in the low 20s.
