Standard, insecure UChicago mom response when presented with inconvenient facts. |
If you think this is a bad move on UChicago’s behalf, I have a bridge to sell you. You’re a zombie who lacks critical thinking and hates on UChicago’s every move like clockwork. I miss what this forum once was. PS - I’m not affiliated with UChicago and I’m not a mom. |
You’re also not denying that you’re Emory mom 🤷♂️ Must suck to have a whole forum hate your guts! |
| Slow night, OP? Or perhaps, slow life? |
Their deans said that a non-tenure-track instructor “might actually be the better person for teaching". Expect more classrooms to be taught by adjuncts. |
| Oh Emory mom, you’ve found a new endeavor? |
Because they are a bonafide T10 college, recognized by other Ivy Colleges as an Ivy+, and have very opaque admissions stats with respect to ED. |
🎯🎯🎯 |
No, just a big fan! Emory derangement syndrome is real😂 |
| No dog in this fight, but several schools have increased enrollment recently— Yale, Rice announced a similar move. Sky hasn’t fallen in New Haven as far as I can tell. |

| Shouldn't they all increase to meet demand? |
| I'm a UChicago fan, but I hope they stop at 9k. I think 6k is the perfect size .. 9k is fine, but no bigger |
| My kid gets a ton of mail from U Chicago though he has nowhere near the stats for it. |
9k is Columbia and Northwestern level. And Columbia already has a very small & compact campus, can't swallow surrounding buildings for extra housing at a low cost (NYC), but still wants to add 575 new seats. But somehow OP finds UChicago increasing enrollment to be sacrilegious, and crickets about Columbia. I'm no Columbia hater, but UChicago can easily gobble up housing around campus for cheap, so this expansion is nothing out of the ordinary. |
