PVS probably lacks the money to hire a real web developer, which is unfortunate. They should have realized that the site they designed is not mobile friendly and since the majority of users access the site on their phone it is very short sighted.

They would do better to spend the extra money and hire a professional.

The site not unit violates design principles, it may not be ADA Compliant either.

The site not *only violates design principles, it may not be ADA Compliant either

Not an expert, please explain the ADA compliant comment?

The design layout is hard on the eyes even for those of us that have correct vision.

It is a pretty chunky design.

Is there a link to the comment section? The new site is hard to navigate

I think we should complain.

When I access it on my iPhone I get a different version, with a menu at the top right. If anything, the colors work better on phone. The blue background is definitely a lot on a desktop monitor.

Just loaded it on my laptop. I actually like the modern look, but mostly use the site to download Meet Announcements to know which pool to go to, warm up times, event list, etc.

Checked out the mobile version as well. I don't see an issue swiping right to get to the meet announcement. With all the time I spend on Insta, my brain is trained to swipe down/right ha!

It is a LOT of swiping (actually left - so maybe you are a tinder user) and then you lose track of where you are on the chart. The colors are obnoxious and painful to the eye on the computer but not as bad on the phone. But the site is complete crap on the phone.

If they really are paying this person they need to develop a mobile version that is usable. I am just thinking about sitting at meets where wifi is poor and having to load this very graphic and color intensive site. The nice thing about a simple site was that it was one of the few your could always access with poor wifi to pull meet announcements, etc. even when meet mobile would just not load.

I imagine that this site is going to not do well on the pool deck setting. Hopefully they will rectify it by the next SC season.

I do think they probably hired "cheap" and inexperienced here.

The colors being hard to read? Or the contrast? The dark background is a LOT.

Isn't the site using an out-of-the-box template from wix? Should be a setting that makes the site mobile-friendly.

I think you are right. It didn't look like a professional did this site - it is cookie cutter and formulaic.

Then why would they not have done that?

I don't think there's anything wrong with a cookie cutter site, but just need to enable to the mobile-friendly option...Hopefully, it's straightforward.

The real question is: Why did they need to change the site at all? It was linear and easy to use before, along with meeting universal design principles and being ADA Compliant.
