Do soft lightweight pants exist?

The Ruti On The Loose pants are basically parachute pants - they are primarily nylon. They look and feel cheap. Absolutely not worth the outrageous price tag.

Can someone please explain to me how these are supposed to be WORK PANTS? Do you all work retail? These are in no way professional.

OP, the Anthropologie Maeve pants come in a lot of fabrics and lengths, there is one that is an ankle length cut and very light fabric (not linen, but summerweight) that I love to wear in the spring/summer/early fall. You’d be best served by going into the store to find it since it is out seasonally (I have to think it would be in stock this time of year).

I tried these and they don’t really work for petite people.

These are very soft. I have several pairs. Caveat I’m only 5’2” so they’re full length on me.

I'm 5' and also have several pairs of the Miles ankle pants. Five stars. I'm wearing a pair right now.

Lululemon has a lot of choice with light weight versatile pants and they come in different lengths

I think if you work in "PR!" or "Marketing!" consulting or any "Creative!" space, you show up in these because you're so cool and nonchalant and you just need your soy latte and laptop and you can sit in the communal brainstorming room, nay brainhurricaning room and solve all the world's problems! In those pants. Also you have to weigh 115.

So many options. Here are a few. Also don't write off wide leg automatically, look at the fabric. Some fabric is drapier than others and won't overwhelm a small frame. The last pair on my list is technically wide leg but they don't look it on. They do run long though so you might need to get them hemmed. They are my go to for airplanes right now:

I don't work for Deloitte or in any "creative" space and I wear pants like this. They are comfy and look good on me.

It sounds like you are mad about other women being thinner than you are. It's okay if these pants don't work for your body, but you don't have to put down people who wear them.

The Athleta Brooklyn Ankle Pant works very well for me at 5’3.5” but in a Petite size. Also the Athleta Endless High Rise Pant, again in a Petite size, works very well for me. They are so soft and comfortable.

I don't like the fabric that Vuori is using now. It doesn't wash well for me.
