| Kids rejected at UMD College Park accepted in prior years at BU, BC, Northwestern, USC, UC's, Wisconsin, many SLACs, etc. These are the high stat kids at Ws and county magnet schools that get shut out because UMD won't accept too many kids from a single school. Surprising but true. |

If they are applying after 1 semester of CC they are probably considered a freshman and the application deadline is only Dec 1.

Rutgers is a much tougher admit. Plus: distance and cost. |

I know a kid who was rejected UMD. Went to Towson for 1 semester while reapplying to UMD. Started UMD in January. |

Denied: UMDCP Accepted: Towson, Salisbury, GMU, Pitt, UMBC, Delaware, Temple. Ended up going to Towson due to fit/costs and is enjoying it. He originally thought he might transfer to UMDCP, but has decided he doesn't want to have to "start over" at UMDCP. |
