Have you ever been attracted to someone you’re not “supposed to” be attracted to?

Most liberal women are attracted to maga men, it’s a fairly well documented trend.

How come? Does it work the other way?

Anonymous wrote:Yes I developed a huge crush on my surgeon when I had to have surgery. Even when it was happening, I understood that it was sort of a psychological trick -- I was in a huge amount of pain and he was going to get rid of my pain, he was very kind to me during a very difficult time in my life, and also I was completely vulnerable to him during surgery. But even though I understood why it was happening it was super embarrassing to feel that way about my doctor.

To this day I wonder if I said anything inappropriate to him or anyone else on the staff while going under or while waking up (zero memory of either). I am sure it happens, even if I didn't. Now I think back on it and feel so embarrassed by the whole thing.

This has happened to me -- it was really intense. I think it's a thing. They are saving you, and they also just are handling your body is this very visceral way. You have to trust them. You have to give your body to them for a while.

It faded after a few months, luckily.

Holding conservative values like opening doors or being protective are different than maga ...who are extreme right

I was hopelessly attracted to a former boss. I thought (and still think) he’s the ultimate package: intelligent, kind, tall, handsome, wealthy, fit, talented, funny, I could go on and on.

Sigh. His wife is a lucky woman.

At times I've thought it likely to be mutual, but we've never spoken of it and have certainly never acted on it.

I’m a psychiatrist. When I was in training, I had a therapy patient who was kind of in love with me, and in turn I ended up being kind of in love with my supervisor. The mind plays weird tricks.

When DD was in the NICU, her main nurse was a man, and I ended up spending more time with him and DD than my (now ex) H. Watching him care for my baby and all the other babies….he would sing to them when they cried….omg. By the end of the 2 weeks I was ready to pack up all the babies and run away with him. Didn’t help that my own H showed little interested in either me or DD bc he was busy texting his side piece the entire time.

Yes I have.

I'm a guy and I have a co-worker who I guess wants to be a woman. He wears make up and for Halloween wore a dress to work. He was privately ridiculed by some co-workers, but I have to admit, he looked good.

+1
Sometimes it’s just an attraction to one specific quality, like their voice or muscular legs or sense of human, not the whole person. For example, I think Elvis was one of the hottest guys ever - but his sexism and personality are ugly as can be. So although I’m attracted to his looks, I’m not really attracted to him - plus he’s dead.

Even though she's a good bit older than me and has had too much plastic surgery, I have a thing about Priscilla Presley. She was so hot on the Dallas TV show and she still has a hold on me today.

I can see that. Loved her in The Naked Gun.

Not for a long time. For me at least, the longer I live, the less I am attracted to people who are bad for me. I value peace and there is no peace in drama.

Yes, my personal trainer. He’s super positive, always pushes me to do things I don’t thing I can do and is just REALLY physically attractive. He’s not the normal type of guy I’d be attracted to either: Tall, muscles everywhere, tats, sexy voice and strong hands. He said “good girl” in his sexy voice after I finished a set and I thought I was going to slide off the bench.
