Have you ever been attracted to someone you’re not “supposed to” be attracted to?

Yes. I’ve found that envisioning them doing normal body functions that are gross helps a lot. Every time you see the inappropriate person think about them having a butt pimple. Or vomiting. Or clearing a really phlegm-y cough. Or having bad toe nail fungus.

I get why people say this, but it doesn't bode well for having actual relationships with actual people. If imagining your crush doing basic human stuff is enough to give you "the ick", welp, what happens when your actual human partner has, you know, a "butt pimple" or toe fungus? Or clears a really phlegm-y cough or vomits?

If simple humanity is enough to turn you off, maybe the problem is less the object of your attraction and more the nature of your attraction/obsession itself?

Yes, I had a mild interest in one of my husband's brothers for a short while, as well as a friend's husband. Both were easy to ignore - they didn't even come up to crush level.

Thank you for saying this. I say it all the time and people don’t agree with me.
I am attracted to my sons and nephews.
I can’t control it. It’s not my fault. I have not acted on it.

No. You're weird.

this man lives in the bush, herds cows and goats, and wears a red shuka! i'm a city girl.

This could be a Hallmark move, no? City girl goes on a safari in Africa ..

I'm black tho. And have no intention of living in the bush. It was very enlightening though to see how proud they were. He was tall, thin, and they sang (vocalized) for us. He was saying he has to get more cows before he can get married-I think he said he needed like 10.

I have all of these. Glad to know that I’m a maximum turnoff.

Did you tell him it would take less cows for you?
