Yes I developed a huge crush on my surgeon when I had to have surgery. Even when it was happening, I understood that it was sort of a psychological trick -- I was in a huge amount of pain and he was going to get rid of my pain, he was very kind to me during a very difficult time in my life, and also I was completely vulnerable to him during surgery. But even though I understood why it was happening it was super embarrassing to feel that way about my doctor. To this day I wonder if I said anything inappropriate to him or anyone else on the staff while going under or while waking up (zero memory of either). I am sure it happens, even if I didn't. Now I think back on it and feel so embarrassed by the whole thing.
When DD was in the NICU, her main nurse was a man, and I ended up spending more time with him and DD than my (now ex) H. Watching him care for my baby and all the other babies….he would sing to them when they cried….omg. By the end of the 2 weeks I was ready to pack up all the babies and run away with him. Didn’t help that my own H showed little interested in either me or DD bc he was busy texting his side piece the entire time.
