Does she like it so far?

Sorry—I wasn’t clear. She got a merit package, but did not matriculate at the school.

NP, mine just started her sophomore year there. Best decision (for her) ever. Super happy with lots of personal growth (confidence, ambition, new interests, etc).

Was this early decision?

No word for our 8/1 applicant here (completed 8/5) but now I’m hopeful that they will hear something this week!

Mine applied just before labor day and got accepted last year September end. Later qualified for honors and merit.

College Confidential may have better information on timing and which school at Pitt from last year

Last year seemed like a fluke, where they didn’t start accepting until mid September. They’ve already started for this year, though doesn’t seem like there have been any in our region

Last year mine heard around Sept 15. Long before any other app was submitted.

It would be so nice to hear 9/15! I’m hopeful more of the early August submissions will hear this week. Fingers crossed!

For those of you with kids attending Pitt, what’s the best public transportation option for getting home (train and bus are showing about 7-8 hours but not sure if usually ends up being longer).

I believe they usually run charter buses to the DMV for school breaks.

There are multiple companies offering a school break bus service to major cities. My kid is a freshman but we are planning to use that for Thanksgiving and winter breaks. Flights are not super expensive to DC if purchased in advance.

Is Richmond one of the cities? (Fingers crossed!)
