If I was at any of these universities, I’d be giving an extra close look at the IT patterns and honor code behavior of my MAGA students to find grounds for ejection. If this is what you support, you can go finish your business degree at Bob Jones U. Good luck getting into Goldman. |
That's exactly what my DD's good friend at UVA who is from Turkey said! She told us that in Turkey university presidents are appointed by the president of the country. It wasn't always that way. The shift towards presidential appointment reflects a broader trend of increased executive power in Turkey under Erdogan--just as we are seeing here in the US. At UVA, the Board of Visitors elects the university president, and right now its composition tilts to the right due to appointments by Youngkin, who might as well be a proxy for Trump. |
What civil rights laws were violated and how? Do you feel that allowing legacy status to increase charges of admission is a violation of civil rights of those who while qualified were prevented from attending certain universities because of their race? |
Mediocre white students, especially males, hate being around excellence. |
Stop lying. You are scared that if a TRUE merit system is in place, white people won't have the only seats at the table. Oh you poor, poor, unqualified white people. |
Yes. All of this anti-DEI and charges of antisemitism is just a means to dismantle higher education and put it under Trump admin control. They fear people who will contradict their lies and propaganda. They brand truth-tellers as "elites" and whatever other slur they can come up with to justify their overreach to people too ignorant to know or care. They want to control the narrative completely. Welcome to 1984. Deplorable. |
I can assure you that UVA has its fair share of mediocre white male students. Apparently they'll be getting some more. |
There are some firsts in the UVA case that may be missed if one doesn't pay close attention.
1. This is the first known instance of the DOJ demanding the resignation of a university president—especially at a state institution—over ideological grounds. 2. This is the first time DOJ officials linked a civil rights investigation to a direct demand for a university president’s removal, based on perceived insufficient compliance with federal ideological expectations (e.g., DEI dismantling). 3. This is the first case where the federal government threatened to withhold massive research funding to force ideological leadership change. DOJ officials reportedly warned that these funds were at risk unless President Jim Ryan stepped down--this creates a new precedent: using financial coercion to shape leadership and campus policy, not just program compliance. 4. This is the first time civil rights law were used to punish perceived overreach on diversity and inclusion. 5. This is the first major test case of Trump’s second-term educational agenda at a flagship public university, not just a private elite one like Harvard. |
That’s the end game of this. We end up like Hungary or Turkey. |
+1 We’re going to need a bigger basket. |
Trump needs to butt out and stay out of my state! |
If white men have an average SAT score and GPA that is higher than black men, but the white men are “mediocre white guys” in your mind, then what does that make black men? Logically it’s not good. |
wow so you want to target students based on politics. Crazy times! |
your state? |
A higher SAT average doesn't make the white men any smarter, or worthier to attend these institutions than the POCs who have the brains but no access to the resources (legacy being one of the resources) those "mediocre white guys" are born into. As for us Asians, the revenge of the mediocre white guys is just a matter of time. |
