Na. It is not the laziness of the school level. It is the incompetence and pandering of the school board. It just shows that the school calendar should end no later than the first week of June, like we were promised when FCPS moved the start date to mid August, then flipped on to add in a bunch of random religious holidays throughout the year. |
Exactly this. |

I have a 6th grader and the teachers have told us and the kids that they won't be doing ANYTHING next week after the 6th grade promotion on Monday morning. Not even movies. The kids will be in the classroom with no electronics, no movies, nothing except the books they bring to school with them. |
Good. They can read and clean desks. |
My kid has the 8th grade promotion ceremony next week during the day. Kilmer said we could take them home after if we wanted and mine said she wants to go Monday- Wed since friends will be split at different high schools next year. So that’s why she’s going. It’s a bittersweet time and she feels it’s the last time to see some of these kids. Many are going to Marshall, Madison or private schools. |
This is frustrating. Our FCPS MS goes to a bunch of different HS and they aren;t doing any kind of ceremony |
I'm lmao about the Argenitine soccer experience. Never change, DCUM! |
10/10 What sets it apart is that they’re pondering this choice two days in advance. Should I send Larlo to school on Monday, or should I send him to Argentina? |
MESSI!~~~ |
Literally laughed out loud at that post. Can’t wait to see that kid play pro one day……….. |
Well, we don't really have snow days anymore. And snow days are unplanned. So it's really not the same. |
I thought all of the fcps muddle schools do some kind of 8th grade celebration. All the schools in our area do something. |
My kids have watched PG-13 movies school. |
My kid (seventh grade) had a quiz yesterday and another on Monday. They are still learning at that school! |
