He said that about the guys that he called up to the podium. They did happen to be men at that point. And, they were very good looking young men.

Context does count it’s more verification that looks override qualifications and ability to do the job. If Kristi Puppy Killer weighed 300 lbs and had amazing qualifications and could fix this border problem with ease, he wouldn’t have chosen her. He’d rather have someone intellectually lazy but puts on lipstick and hair extensions every morning.

I have a kid who's doing engineering at a top 20 school and would very much like to fly F-35s or F-18s.

But he's not at an academy or doing ROTC, so it would be OCS and then flight school. And I'm not convinced OCS people get a shot at F-35s or F-18s no matter how well they do.

This would be an excellent time for a random naval aviator to chime in.
