That does seem to be the primary talking point here.

Agree. Harvard doesn’t need my tax dollars.

If the foreign applicants go down, will the amount of kids who need to take the basic math and writing summer session classes go up? The Algebra 1 class at Americas “premier” university should not be overcrowded.

I’m soooo suuuure that his kid was a real merit admit. Definitely no money exchanged hands there lol.

Not to mention how these universities are exploiting students for their own gain, then sending them out to an American workforce for pennies on the dollar.

Funding from foreign regimes should be illegal.

The OP of the "plantiamerican thread, that just got deleted, was apparently trying to ask about foreign nationals who are on employment visas in the US. For that poster: looks like that's a Harvard issue.

"The US State Department is reviewing all Harvard University-affiliated visa holders, not just students, three senior State Department officials told CNN Wednesday." https://www.cnn.com/2025/05/29/politics/harvard-state-department-visa-holders-students

"the visa investigation now encompasses not only student visas but also B-1 business and B-2 tourist visas held by individuals affiliated with Harvard." https://en.econostrum.info/all-harvard-related-visas-under-scrutiny/

Good. National security is at risk with certain foreign spies.

Harvard doesn’t seem to understand:
Academy freedom does not include the violation civil rights.

Not even Harvard is above the law.

Drama, drama, drama. This prez is a childish lame duck. This is an ugly episode that will pass. Higher education in this country will continue to educate our students and also students others from other countries.

Judge ordered DHS and State Department not to make any change’s to Harvard’s student visa program indefinitely. 5/29

As a practical matter, the scheduling of new visa appointments for incoming freshmen is still paused, isn't it?

^ preliminary injunction

Of course now the Trump administration is trying to defuse the situation. Big blowhards with this and tariffs and then have to walk back. It’s all like a reality TV ad for viewership….say something shocking

No. The admin is quietly walking that back today, since Harvard’s sworn testament that Harvard students abroad have been unable to get visas since last week. The Justice department said case may be moot since the admin is now “delaying” consequences for Harvard. Omfg …this guy.

The delay is not Harvard-specific, though.

The judge said, "I want to make sure it’s worded in such a way that nothing changes.” Sounds result-oriented rather than based in an analysis of the law.

This is a separate issue from the Harvard case.
