Team Manager

I’m new to travel soccer but our TM has been super nice and helpful to me.
Your generalization is just plain rude.

Out TM volunteers to do the organization stuff that no one else will without nagging. I'm grateful she does it. Pay someone and have my fees go up even more? No thank you!

You know—the one who just wants to help… by knowing everything, inserting herself into every conversation, and making sure the coach knows she’s the real MVP. She’s not managing, she’s campaigning. And of course, her kid just happens to always get game time. Total coincidence. Definitely not the result of nonstop brown-nosing. 🙄

It’s clear no one actually likes her. No one stands with her during games. People avoid her like she’s contagious. The team has zero bond—and it all starts with her. But somehow, she’s still here. She’s been the team manager for years, complains constantly about how much work it is, but never steps down. Because at the end of the day, it’s not about the team. It’s about the spotlight.

Go gender neutral on this one—it’s the same either way!

Sounds like our TM. The kid play full minutes, causes goal after goal and the next season the kid is the first to be picked before even tryouts. Worth the effort lol. Let’s see how long it will last.

Whenever these threads surface, I always assume OP is the person the TM has to nag to confirm attendance or pay fees.

DD’s ECNL club does not have parent managers. Coaches run everything. It’s great.

This is how it should be.

I also hate that we have to buy a pretty expensive gift for TM and coaches at the end of the season. We are forced to pay for a bonus to a volunteer job and someone doing a mediocre job at best.. wth

I split the TM job with another parent for one season of travel and it was a fair amount of work and stress. Between the safe spot training, the calendar, communicating with the opposing team every week, making sure we have enough players, getting guest players, registering for tournaments it’s a fair amount. Then there’s the tent; sign up genius for snacks, coaches gift, and of season party. That’s without dealing with emails from parents, lost gear etc. My point is this - if you have someone willing to do all these things be thankful.

OP. You are an arrogant POS. End of discussion.

Our team manager is amazing. One of the kindest, most helpful, and most organized people I know. Maybe it's time to find a different team. Not all of them operate the same way.

What would you know. You said it yourself you are new to travel. You prob also play in a low level league.

Yeah! Low level league. Only the top leagues have the most a****** posters with the most a****** team managers. Go back to NCSL division 7 and your fun team lunches. Your polite post will ride the pine forever and never by P4 in list serve posts. Our team managers suck and are the best cause they are so terrible to everyone! Yeah!
