Sounds like my DDs TM |
|
Our TM is great. TM handles all the money collecting, schedules and email correspondence. No drama. I’m pretty sure the coach and parents appreciates all the effort.
TM’s DC actually has very little playtime, and I worry about the TM quitting and going to a different team. |
| Oh wow you sound like you got off easy!!! In my opinion our TM is a nasty piece of work, a cheap and trashy loudmouth who is the leader of our team’s clique of mean girls, the moms who freeze out the other moms and swill booze at games. One of them famously picked a fight with another parents that made it to the local news. Regina George on steroids with bad makeup and tacky eyelash extensions. She gossips about parents, trash talks other kids, and her kid is a bully and has physically gotten into fistfights with kids on our team. Just the worst. I am hoping someone else steps up next year! |
| Why aren't there more male TM? |
This isn’t the norm really. |
WTF males are incompetent like asking them to clean the house |
| My kid has a male team manager for the first time this year and he can't even do the basic communicating on things. We have been spoiled by Type A moms over the years |
| My son’s team has a male TM. He is simply the best!! Calm cool collected, organized and courteous, thoughtful and drama free. Does everything on time and giving us time to get it done or in an efficient manner. Kid is a great player and fantastic teammate. He’s really the best!!! |
Because in our culture, the thankless administrative grunt work tasks --->that everyone then criticizes --are done by moms. |
OFFS! |
This. When's the last time Dad got a dental school form signed? |
I am sure that, like everything, it is a mixed bag. I am a soccer dad with a handful of kids and do literally everything that has to do with sports (forms, driving, planning, etc). |
Extremely unusual. |
I do virtually all of the daycare/preschool/school/medical/sport stuff with my DS and DD, when she was in HS at least, because unlike my wife my job is 1) closer to where all those things happen and 2) has hours that are more flexible to do that stuff. YMMV. |
Maybe, but I know others, besides myself... I am much more invested in my children's athletics than my wife is. If I didn't do it, it wouldn't get done. |
