Every team has that manager. You know—the one who just wants to help… by knowing everything, inserting herself into every conversation, and making sure the coach knows she’s the real MVP. She’s not managing, she’s campaigning. And of course, her kid just happens to always get game time. Total coincidence. Definitely not the result of nonstop brown-nosing. 🙄
It’s clear no one actually likes her. No one stands with her during games. People avoid her like she’s contagious. The team has zero bond—and it all starts with her. But somehow, she’s still here. She’s been the team manager for years, complains constantly about how much work it is, but never steps down. Because at the end of the day, it’s not about the team. It’s about the spotlight. |
OK, hmm, I'm siding with the TM on this one. |
Sounds like our TM.
|
I can tell you why the team has zero bond and it’s not the TM. |
| We don’t have a TM |
| OP, why don’t you suggest helping the TM, eg organize some bonding events? |
Haha yeah. Also the TM just called a meeting to discuss how much of a gossipy jackass you are. Everyone agrees. This isn’t high school, get off the fence and lend a hand and organize a social event or fund raise or something. Be a parent be involved…. Because it sounds like you are the problem, not the poor TM. |
| Why do we need a TM? We already pay $$$$. Can the clubs not provide 1 TM per age group? |
Then our fees would go up because they would have to pay the TM. Right now it's a volunteer parent that costs nothing. |
| I understand that, but considering the significant costs we already incur, it feels unreasonable. TM is an entry-level, part-time job with minimum pay, so the fees shouldn’t increase. |
DD’s ECNL club does not have parent managers. Coaches run everything. It’s great. |
Eww.. what team are you on? What a sweeping judgement of team managers. My dd TM is amazing and the complete opposite of everything you said. |
Yea right. And this minimum wage entry level part timer will have our team and coach in their best interest assuming they stick around for more than a month or two. |
|
Are you sure it's not you that no one stands with at games and no one likes?
Every team does not have that TM. And every coach and club does not cater towards the TM's kid. Grow up OP. |
Here’s a thought, perhaps you should ask for a change and become the TM and fix the issues you pronounce. |
