I’m not so sure that elections are over. Apart from the blowhards posting here, most Americans are not pleased with Trump’s actions to date. As inflation skyrockets and stuff becomes too expensive or scarce, Americans are going to be angry about the economy. Hard to stay in power on a bad economy.

Any attempt to manipulate or change election laws to allow Trump to serve as POTUS beyond January 2029 will be met with swift and immediate successful resistance by real Americans which is a number that exceeds 2/3rds majority. We wouldn't tolerate Reagan or Obama attempting to remain in power beyond their term limit and we damn sure won't tolerate it with one of the most unpopular presidents ever.

Since most lawmakers and people working in the judiciary branch believe in due process, the people who have acted illegally and unconstitutionally within our government will be allowed extensive leeway to drag their feet with appeals, etc. The exceedingly wealthy among them will have a battalion of lawyers willing to dance rings around the government lawyers. Only a vanishingly few will see any form of legal justice.

So... there's very little hope that anything comes out of that exercise. Nevertheless, it must be attempted, just out of principle.

Who is "we". The Dems have a clean slate with no party leaders after getting rid of Biden. We have no idea how strong the next Dem leader will be but they'll inevitably be stronger than Biden.
