Against the fathers wishes and with no due process. See the problem?

Read the complaint. The mother and sister had deportation orders. The father is in the country illegally as well. That’s why he did not take custody of the citizen child, as he was told he would be detained and deported as well. Regardless, the child has every ability to return to the country. The parents only have to arrange transportation for her to return. It was the mother who wrote that she wished for her daughter to return to Honduras with her.

I read the complaint. Father wanted child to be taken by guardian Trisha Mack. ICE wouldn’t allow it, they were using the child to get father to present himself and be deported.

How were they supposed to verify his claims without him showing up? What if he was a human trafficker?

“Trump administration officials said in court that the mother told ICE officials that she wished to take V.M.L. with her to Honduras. The filing included a handwritten note in Spanish they claimed was written by the mother and confirmed her intent. But the judge said he had hoped to verify that information.”

I think ICE feels like they can’t trust the judiciary after one judge was just arrested for obstructing a legal arrest.

Works both ways.

Oh, there will be FAFO, and it won't be the kind you are hoping for. Your guy is tanking in the polls, including on questions about the handling of migrants.

This is another case of the parents (dad) trying to leverage their American citizen child to stay in the US. Absolutely nothing is stopping the child from returning if her parents want that. The emotional manipulation is no longer working

Write up guardianship papers for Trisha and let her go to Honduras to collect the child.

There are going to be hundreds, thousands of sob stories like this. But really, these headlines are misleading. No USC child was deported. This mother rightly took her child with her, and this child can return some day if they decide that’s what they want to do.

They problem is that they are making arrests without identifying themselves and entering people home without warrants. They are ignoring judges orders. Attorneys representing the admin are making false statements in court. The courts don't have a good reason to act with a presumption of regularity anymore.

As long as employers will hire them, they will come. The cruelty is the point. They want them to come but want to make sure they are afraid so they won't complain about abuse.

A bunch of liberal media outlets spreading false propaganda.

I don’t know why they are so focused on immigration lately. Their liberal immigration policies are unpopular. They would be better off focusing on Trump’s tariffs and the economy.

They are lying because they know the child was not deported. Her mother and her sister were deported. Her father had a deportation order against him as well. These family members are/were all in the country illegally. The US citizen child was voluntarily taken back to Honduras, per her mother’s wishes. It’s up to this family to decide whether they want the child to live with them in Honduras, or whether they want to send the child back to live with a guardian/relative in the US.
