Why? Do you think it's unhygenic? |
What are you? The mayo police? If you're OP, then I'm guessing you are bored and making sh*t up to entertain yourself. |

Many foods should only be out of refrigeration for 2hours or less.
That is why. (Otherwise, it can start growing bacteria that can make you sick) |
| You’re supposed to throw out all perishable food that’s been at room temperature for more than two hours. |
| WTF I do you think should go in there if not food? |

The body of OP's co-worker, murdered in a fit of misplaced rage. |
Do you eat raw chicken for lunch? In which case, you have bigger food safety issues. The vast majority of lunch foods are going to be totally fine in an air conditioned office building. |
Many office fridges are not part of janitorial cleaning schedules, it’s up to the users to keep it clean. Partly that’s because some people throw a fit when their goods are throw out. What ends up happening is a ton of abandoned and expired food rotting in the fridge. I don’t even open it. My cooler pack will do just fine, I’m not making hollandaise sauce. Commercial Mayo is actually pretty shelf stable, about the same as ketchup. |
No you are not. |
Yes, you are. https://www.fsis.usda.gov/food-safety/safe-food-handling-and-preparation/food-safety-basics/leftovers-and-food-safety |

I don’t know what to tell you. Your PB&J can survive out of the refrigerator. otherwise all school children would be dead. |
Me too, I thought I was the only crazy one! |
true, everyone who packed a brown bag lunch for school is now dead. |
