Has Yellowjackets gotten to weird to be good?

Who is this Melissa character? I don't even remember her from previous seasons and now she's a major player?

Agreed! Episode 3 was terrible. I wish there was not a supernatural element. Just give me Mean Girls/Lords of the Flies.

I loved the first season, 2 was still pretty good. I am skeptical about season 3 at this point. I’ll stick with it and hope it gets better.
I am rooting for Coach.

OK, well that was a better episode than the prior ones. Opened up more new questions than it solved but it sure was entertaining. Too bad to see Lottie go, I'd have left Shauna in that freezer.

It's interesting to see how truly nasty Shauna was as a teen. Really mean.

She always was. The character was beloved by fat jealous Gen Xers especially because she got to consume Jackie completely after betraying her and still somehow remaining a sacrosanct victim. That is real living the dream territory for her type. She’d have had a similar trajectory had the plane not crashed and she made it to Brown, but the Jackie would have been a richer girl who was better at comp lit theses.

I almost feel bad for the actress who plays Taissa. Her character is so mentally ill and bizarre. I assume she was planning on killing the random man who picked up the queen card, just to give “it” what it wants? Such a completely stupid storyline. And why isn’t she fighting to see her son? So weird how that whole part of her life isn’t even shown anymore.

+2 that was so weird.

Shauna (teen and adult) does suck, however.

Adult Shauna is terrible and wonderful in equal measure. She is a testament to how good and charismatic Melanie Lynskey is as as a performer!

DP. I don't think Melanie Lynskey is good in this role at all. She's so obviously acting.

I'm curious about the writers' decision to make teen Shauna utterly IRREDEEMABLE. I mean, wth?

Yes, it was always about the duality in the first two seasons. She's completely unsympathetic now and I hope to see her lose everything that matters to her in the adult timeline. She deserves it. How can any of them live with themselves?? Just despicable. This is no longer about survival. It's pure animalistic cruelty.
