Two girl to boy
Makes zero difference to me. My son is friends with one, and the kids don’t care either. It’s literally a non issue. |

Two, boy to girl. So upset for them because hospitals are already stopping care for minors transitioning, even mid-process.
I just really don't understand why people can't mind their own business. I'll also say that it may be more prevalent in the DC area because we have three medical centers in the DMV that provide support for transitioning minors. I'm sure some families move for this sort of care. |
| I wish that we could get to a place where we do not have gender stereotypes and people could just be who they are. |

Two girl to boy, beginning stages, one older fully transitioned boy to girl. Also two non- binary girls.
The kids we know are not happy. Most have had some childhood trauma. All come from divorced families. |

Three.
1 adult & 1 teen, both male to female. The third is a young adult who transitioned from female to male in teens. Now transitioning back to female. |
| But it's totally not a social contagion, right? |
It’s 1.6% of the population. If there are 2000 kids at your child’s school, that’s 32, and chances are you’ve encountered at least 1-2 of them. Stop implying that it’s a larger percentage than it is. It’s not that many, it’s just that we encounter hundreds of kids. |

4 girl-to-boy, 1 girl to non-binary, 1 boy to non-binary.
It is not at all evenly distributed among social circles. And I think that it would be naïve to think that social factors around misogyny have nothing to do with the new high rates of young FTMs. But perhaps we’re just seeing a generation of young butches opt for what may ultimately be the most socially acceptable version of themselves. Non-gender-conforming women have always had a rough time. Maybe easier to be perceived as a gender-conforming man. Ngl, as a lesbian I’m sorry to see the butches go. But everyone deserves happiness! |

We know one from Church (girl to boy); taking puberty blockers in high school.
Also in DD’s high school, we know one teenager - a former cubscout (boy to girl) - who is dating a girl-to-boy teen. I am sure there are others in the HS; it’s nearly 2K kids. We also know at least 3 families who have kids who came out as “non-binary,” and are gender fluid, but of those 3 kids, none considering surgery or anything (as far as we know). |
| I know of 3 kids who have transitioned socially but I have no idea beyond that. |
| I know one family with a teenage girl who is transitioning to male, surgeries already in progress. That’s it. |

3.3% of high school students are transgender in 2023:
https://abcnews.go.com/US/3-us-high-schoolers-identify-transgender-cdc-survey/story My guess in some states, such as Utah, the percentage is lower than 3.3%. If I had to guess about Fairfax and MoCo high schools, it is likely higher than the 3.3% estimated by the CDC and reported by reputable news sources. Likely quite a bit higher. |
| Probably a dozen when they were in middle school. One now that they are going to college. It’s a teen phase that is harmless unless someone uses it to make permanent decisions. |
| I have three kids in elem - middle school. I don't know of any kids, but I work for a university in Title IX and work with and have met several people who are transgender/non-binary. |
