I think it's the other way around - Dem politicians pander to black voters and abandon Asian voters and many Asians are fed up.

But for Black Americans marching and getting assisinated for everyone's civil rights, these Asians would still be colored. It's only a matter of time before the MAGA crowd thank them (especially Vivek) for their service as useful idiots for white supremacy.

Still better treatment than from Dem politicians obsessed with Identity politics where they will be buried along with it.

It would be interesting to know whether the data included South Asian as well as East Asian Americans.

Not sure but here’s what happened in Edison, NJ.

It’s not that surprising, after speaking to my family and friends. Many Indian-Americans, especially the more recently arrivals venerate Modi and see in Trump a leader in the same vein. All the equity stuff also doesn’t help with many of these folks. They are more interested in making money for themselves and bettering their own families. The traditional grip Democrats have had on this group is loosening.

And it’s not PC to say it and people won’t openly admit it but Trump’s anti-Muslim rhetoric also resonates with the Hindutva mindset.

That was true of previous waves of immigrants until the assimilated. A couple of world wars probably also helped unite America too.

I couldn’t really be bothered to follow that stuff, but what was the end result? They won their case, right?
Does Harvard have more Asian students now?

The result was more Asians distrusting Dems to support them.

Weren’t certain South Asian groups more conservative leaning anyway? Maybe more analogous to Cuba. Americans who tend to be more conservative than other Hispanic groups?

lol I looked it up. The result was the exact same number of Asians. And the number went down at some of the other Ivies. Too funny.

Democracy, access to abortion, gay/trans rights, equity, and other Dem issues are probably far down on their list of priorities. And I say this as a Dem who knows lots of SE Asians and Indians.

I don’t know why you listed “democracy” with the other issues to get someone to vote Dem. They were the party that circumvented the democratic process. The people already spoke with democracy and loudly said that they DIDN’T want Kamala as their president. The Democratic Party ignored that and made her the candidate anyway.

I realize this likely wont penetrate, but I can’t help myself.
We got f’ed by Joe Biden. The democrats had like 100 days to place in a new candidate. The only way they could legally use the Biden campaign war chest, was if they had Harris on the ticket. AND no other dem ran against her. They could have. No one wanted that assignment. why? Because they knew it was a losing battle. How do we know it was a losing battle? Because on November 5 2024, after Kamala had killed herself sprinting from rally to rally, and spent 1 billion dollars, the most searched google query was:
“ is Joe Biden running for reelection?”
That’s right. In 100 days with Taylor swift endorsing, and a joyful convention… Americans wanted to know who was running for president.
I. just. Can’t.
So no… Big Gretch, or Newsome, or Shapiro, or Beshear didn’t want to run with 100 days and NO MONEY for the presidency against Trump who has been campaigning since the last election.
We got who got because of Joe Biden- who would have lost by bigger margins. His internal polling was showing an electoral college defeat of 400. Harris closed a huge gap that was made insurmountable by Joe Biden.
In fact the only thing that MAGA has gotten right in 8 years is LETS GO BRANDON
They were so right about F—- Joe Biden.

It is absolutely 100000% due to DEI and Affirmative Action racist policies that discriminate against Asians literally because of their race.

Google was caught saying they basically weren't going to allow Asian males to be promoted. Schools require Asians to score far higher in SATs and have better GPAs than most other racial groups in order to gain admission. The only reason is because of their race.

All do the policies discriminating against Asians are leftist democratic ideas. Now Dems wonder why Asians are mad at them?

Many Vietnamese are strong GOP supporters. They had MAGA rallies in Eden Center in NoVa. Trump even visited there. They escaped the horrors of communism and are very disturbed by the hard left turn Dems are taking that is trying to install the same exact idea they had to escape from.

Grotesque racism like this would be immediately deleted and widely condemned if against any other group.

I’m not reporting because I think it’s better to let it stand, to let people have a visceral example of why Asians are fleeing as fast as they can from the Democratic Party.

So instead they voted for a hard right turn. Trumpism is not your grandfather's Republicanism. It is extreme right.

The problem for Dems and liberals is that they constantly whine about equity, racism, inclusion, white supremacy, yadda yadda, but the fact of the matter remians is that ASIANS actually have the highest median household income and wealth out of all racial groups in the country. How is that possible if there is lack of equity, systemic racism and white supremacy?

The uncomfortable truth is that you CAN actually make it in America if you work hard and have strong family values and discipline. It's not a govt or societal problem, it is the fact that other groups besides Asians simply don't have the same traditions and values that Asians do. No one ever wants to take personal responsibility for their own outcomes, it must be because of white supremacy and inequality. It is just amazing how so many Asians can come here with nothing and in one generation produce offspring who have more wealth than the average American.

People need to fix themselves if they want equity. You can socially engineer being a good parent.

Yes, many Vietnamese refugees have a horror of Communism, and the far left tack the Democrats have taken is genuinely scary to them.
