Correct. They are acknowledging that. |
Ugh wish this had been our tour! They need a consistent experience for prospective students. |
Do you expect your grocery store to do this? The metro? |
Because it’s meaningless, performative BS. |
Flat out not true. |
The “agenda” of acknowledging slavery and fighting racism? |

People aren’t touring UVA in order to fight racism. |
We had awful tour. First they made a big deal about stolen land, then showed where slaves lived. Said you get academic advisors who know nothing about what you are studying and the student fair is hot and overcrowded. Just go where they have popsicles. One tour guide was a transfer who said she cane to UVA because she wanted to struggle like het friends. A total turn off. |
Where should people fight racism? |
It’s triggering you to have a conversation. |
We also had a bad tour. Total turn off. We enjoyed most of our college tours but UVA was not good. |
At a college as a guide, you have about an hour to sell your school. Prospective students want to see the libraries, dorms, learn about the research opportunities and clubs. Learn what makes that school special and more details about the application process. |
Not PP but there was no conversation. We were all told to be silent. |
Liberal democrat here and thinks this stuff is performative BS as well. Not just conservatives, FWIW. |
