Do you ever have your opposite sex teens share a bedroom on vacation?

We lived in temporary housing for 4 months while we were building and to get a corporate apartment that my husbands job would pay for in the same school district we settled for a 2 BR townhouse. My 6yo DD and 9yo DS shared a room with 2 twin beds.

When we travel, the kids share a room if we have one place with a “master” with a king and another bedroom with 2 beds. If we get 2 separate hotel rooms, I room with DD and SH and DS stay together.

I shared a room with my 40 year old brother last time we travelled to a funeral without our families.

I never even considered that people did this until my neighbor was complaining about the cost of the hotel rooms at a ski resort for a family wedding, how she had 3 rooms so her 20 year old M and 24 year old F siblings could have their own rooms. They're siblings, they can share a room to save me 1000 dollars! If I'm paying, they're sharing a room! When they start bringing their partner along, now that's a different story.

I have an opposite sex twin and it was never weird to share. Sure a private room was preferable, but it would have been same sex as well. We have three kids now and I expect them to share whenever needed. Not sure why this is an issue.

ages 19 & 21 girl/boy share hotel room when we take them on vacation. they understand and respect each other's privacy. i can see though now it would be better to try to get a 3 bedroom apartment or similar going forward but never been a problem so far.

17 & 20 and yes, they share a room on trips. They enjoy it especially now that the oldest is in college because they get to hang out without me, talk music and stuff like that. They don't share a bed at this age of course, but up until they were teens they often did that too.

Weird. I don’t see why this is a problem?

My brothers and parents and I almost always shared one hotel room growing up. 2 beds and a rollaway cot (I’m the only girl and slept on that). It was fine if crowded. We really only spent time in the room to sleep and shower.

16 and 19 yr old. They did it for 3 weeks while we were on vacation. The younger one prefers to share a room with their older sibling than us, the parents. They get along generally pretty well, and talk about teenage stuff.

At first, I thought they wouldn't want to do this, but they preferred it. I'm glad they get along so well that they can do this.

Mine share the pull-out couch, OP. My friends' opposite-sex kids do the same thing.

We shared beds as opposite sex siblings until college. In hotel rooms where my parents where present.

All normal, well adjusted adults now.

One hotel room shared with our teen. I change in the bathroom.

A room—absolutely and without hesitation. I try to avoid bed sharing at this point because they complain so much about it but I don’t think it is beyond the pale. Daughter is 16 and son is 13.

Overreaction and privilege.
