What perplexes me is that regular hotels seem to be able to have check in last 0 minutes. I'm not talking about fancy hotels. I'm talking about the Hampton Inn.

I don’t think this is just a cheap resort problem as one PP suggested. We’ve stayed at insanely expensive resorts in Asia, HI, etc. The only difference is that while they’re taking a half hour to check you in, you sit in a special private check-in lounge or patio or atrium and they bring you snacks and drinks and things.

Doesn’t matter how nice the surroundings are because it feels endless, especially when they disappear with your passport. No matter how nice the waiting area is, I’m still sweating through my airplane outfit and dealing with a kid who is jet lagged or wants to use the bathroom but I can’t leave with her because someone has my bags and my passport and I just want to put my tote down and take a shower.

NP here. We waited forever, 20 minutes, at a resort in Williamsburg to check-in. It is incredibly annoying. I’m tired, hot, hungry and they make you wait in line forever and then check in takes 15 min. Why???

We used it last month. But also 18 months ago and during COVID.

It was a breeze. But we did the pre check on on the Disney app.

This happens at every Caribbean resort - mid to high end - I have been to. At some mid range like Westins (thinking of Grand Cayman most recently), the check in line has literally been out the door.

Are you talking about Great Wolf Lodge! I remember those very long lines when active DD was little. So hard!
