Arlington Soccer Assn highest paid employees

Anonymous
Is it even a nonprofit or a business? Either way, many nonprofits are just jobs for the employees with little actual mission. My kids to play soccer wit their friends, someone reserves the fields for us, sometimes provides a ref, and the fees are cheaper than almost any other sport. I mean try to have a regular pickup game on a field at a peak time, good luck.

The ED of Alexandria makes 340K a year? Now that is criminal.

Why would an Alexandria taxpayer care more than an Alexandria Soccer Association parent? Don't the directors' salaries come from revenues? I don't see how that would affect a taxpayer.

part of me thinks that, but part of me realizes how heavily subsidized they are by the city. Think about all of the outdoor futsal courts the city installed. Try to get a permit for one of them at the same time ASA wants it. The same applies to Whittier Park or Limerick or Simpson

Nice $35K+ boost in 3 years for Mo, who does jack sh*t advocating for kids in the system. He’s got your money and could give two FKs once he’s got your cash.

you might have a gripe with the partnership but the salary doesn't affect any of those things. and since net profits aren't taxed it's not taking away from that either. ASA is the driing force behind upgrades in those places and they provide organized activities for thousands of kids, the vast majority of whom are county residents. I totally understand the frustration of trying to find an open field for play with my son, but if a field or a court is full of kids it's probably a better use than the two of us taking it up. I hope, but don't know, that the fields ASA advocates for and helps maintain do get to be used by the public sometimes. There's definitely plenty of space over the summer. Same with Arlington fields.

I don't like all the anonymous accusations here because no one can then judge if its informed opinion or a monkey tossing his own sheet. Additionally my family is not yet out of this whole exploitative relationship and I trust no one to act in good faith.
First I'm sorry to hear the constant frustration from families as they come here for information or solace for their grievances. Sadly the boys/girls league and clubs and the college coaches act in alignment to get your money. and fewer clubs in the area only strengthen the hands of these people to be unaccountable.
Second I only share this because families need to understand who runs this club and not misunderstand their coach's role on all this - the coach decides playing time and not much else so if the "bad team culture" or "bad communication" or "broken promises" is your beef make sure you place accountability on the actual club leadership.
Third for families entering the recruitment phase also don't misunderstand these ASA adults who are taking money from your family to pay their mortgages care at all about your kid. They will promote your kid success for the club benefit and ignore your kid if there are struggles. If your kids goal is to play soccer in college at ASA or elsewhere good luck to you; if you're kid is not actually playing at highest level and you are paying and college recruitment is not a realistic goal I'd suggest you find another way to spend your kids time and your money. These people want your money and will keep you on the hook any way possible.

It's a competitive market, so this is none of your business but Arlington's. If you don't like it, leave.

When they didn't give this person's kid enough playing time or cut them, they had no idea the unholy crusade he would take on 😂🤣😆

Fools with money. Most youth players in these clubs belong in a recreational league paying $500/year. But people with money or college-educated parents are not the brightest. Particularly those who have never played soccer.

This is funny. So . . . .if you've "played soccer" you are brighter than someone with a college degree?

This may be the weakest and most pitiful whistle-blower attempt in history.

I love this beautiful game. And I’m having a moral dilemma…

I don’t find it ethical with these amounts but… guess it’s time to start a club and hope that in a few years I’m getting 6 figures. It’s doable no?
