OP clearly has some axe to grind with someone in addition to the system, this is just meant to stir the pot of course. If OP thinks he/she can do better than have at it.

I think it fine to critique, but let's be fair - no one in these roles will ever be successful in the eyes of many in this competitive area. There will always be haters... who, it also seems, think these individuals shouldn't be paid a living wage for this area.

I have no issue with the Arlington leadership making a decent wage (in this area those wages aren't totally off the mark)--especially if they are running an efficient operation that makes sound decisions related to their soccer programming. At minimum, Arlington seems the most stable and operatoinal of the local clubs.

I'll tell you what is shocking though from this thread- McLean leadership makes that same kind of money when their work led to the anihilation of a soccer club that had been around for 20+ years. Let's be real about pay for performance- these leadership people were asleep at the wheel. They gave up their top 200 players and top 12 teams--willingly. They gave up voting rights and decision making. They enabled a takeover without regard for club sustainability. In any other company leaders with that type of dismal performance would have been managed out due to poor performance and abysmal negotiation. Against that backdrop, Arlington salaries are a real steal....

can you elaborate? i dont follow

How much does Oscar make?

Check parks and rec by county. It won't be high quality but there should be a sports option.

It's not enough that these coaches have to take your ridicule from the sidelines and online. But now you want to give them a rectal exam over their finances? Why don't you go up to him and ask him and hope that he doesn't squash you like the cockroach you are?

Probably not much from Arlington, but his main gig is Futstars. Plenty of folks will pay handsomely to enroll their kids at Futstars for an inside track to a slot on the Academy team. Each age group has a few kids who definitely should be on a lower team but for their association with Futstars.

GP has been TD at Arlington for what - 15 years? In that time Arlington has steadily become good at every age group and amassed one of the deepest and most consistent coaching lineups. Every time another club does something stupid he managed to bring in their best coaches.

While other neighboring clubs keeping falling over themselves, chasing shiny things, or shooting themselves in the foot Arlington has been quiet, consistent, and competent while serving the second largest player pool in the area.

Several clubs would welcome that as an alternative to what seems like constant turmoil.

Arlington is great at getting great coaches for ECNL level. For ECNL RL and below- no effort. Parental feedback was rewarded by giving the team the coach they complained about for another year. Not blaming GP- he's got bigger things to do and agree that the club is steady so he is doing a good job. But, the "deepest and consistent coaching lineups" comment is not accurate for anything beyond the top level in my opinion.

Second largest player pool, good coaches and less turmoil but middling results and college placement. Not sure that’s an accomplishment.
