Looks like most kids understood the assignment and did it correctly. Your daughter: she made a “simple mistake” The counselor: massive, horrific mistake (though no mistake was made by him) |
Seems like everyone else managed to do it correctly. Why should an adult have to check the work of hundreds of other mostly adults that all seem perfectly competent? Also, did you move on or are you on here not moving on until proven right? |
OP, it's quite possible your DD selected the wrong item on the drop down menu, but it would be nice if the system gave her some sort of confirmation of school selected and send date. I hate it when there is an important item to do and the software or web interface gives you no idea whether your request went through or whether it was acted upon. |
how about celebrating a great opportunity instead of trying to beat someone down(most likely your kid). We all make mistakes-except you apparently. |
Clearly you haven't |
The counselor shouldn’t have placed blame with your daughter. It’s very irritating and low class when employees do this. She should have said, “Oh no! I will get them the transcript right away. No worries! So sorry that happened.” |
You won't know what happened from DCUM. Sounds like your life is problem free at the moment. |
Public school employees are not in the service economy |
It’s low class? Sorry, but if I were the counselor I would have checked to make sure I had not made a mistake. I am not taking the blame for the student’s error! |
Solve the problem - move on.
Why dwell on this? It's petty and ridiculous. |
If she can’t handle an email asking her to correct her mistake, maybe you should be gently guiding her down a different path. Stuff like this happens everyday in the real world. |
This is the thing— instead of worrying about who is to blame you should use it as a teaching moment that sometimes people (including her) will make mistakes and what matters is how you deal with them (and maybe what systems you have to address the fact that mistakes will happen) |
You don't know if it's her fault. You only know the school aid it was her fault, not theirs. And only they have access to the ways to verify that claim. You do know that people lie, right? |
Schools shouldn't make sure they did their job correctly? ![]() ![]() ![]() |
The eff they aren't! They are civil servants paid for by me. |
