Because MoCo is corrupt and the head of MCPS safety has always been a soft landing for retired law enforcement to double dip and collect a paycheck while also drawing a retirement pension.

Can you call it corruption when it’s allowed? Plenty of people have second careers after retirement.

And he earned a pension. Can’t get mad at him for that.

Of course it was. MoCo is corrupt.

How is applying for a job corrupt?

You actually believe Marcus applied for the job and won the position fairly? It was held for him and there was not a competitive application process.

Was the job posted?

The Post reports that Jones said he was recruited for the job.

Karla and the BOE. Maybe with the support, or encouragement, from Jawando and the County Council.

Karla and the BOE? Is that a band?

No one on the Board of Education would take any such aggressive action. It makes no sense when they were hiring a new superintendent.

Just hours after the Montgomery County Council commemorated his retirement with a proclamation, county police Chief Marcus Jones was appointed Tuesday as chief of the Department of Security and Compliance for Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS).

Yeah, that didn't happen by accident. It was tightly choreographed and coordinated.

Will he train school security assistants to stop flirting with students while they hang out in the halls? I’ve seen 4 different security assistants at our middle school and most of them are useless. They either flirt with the students or the students waste class time flirting with them. They want to be the buddies with kids and then wonder why they don’t listen or follow their instructions.

I heard he was golf buddies with Beidleman.

I feel like a former police chief would be quite competitive for a job like this? Calling it corruption seems over the top. It's not like they hired a former chief of recycling for this job.

This is good news and a positive for MCPS.

They took the posting down but it was up for like a week or two at most.
