No one reputable says wine doesn’t count. Sounds like something made up from the wine industry. |
It's not just the calories. Alcohol slows down your metabolism. |
I say if you are drinking wine 2 days per week or less, no need to count it, it won’t make a difference |
Of course not. They’re completely free calories!! |
Alcohol calories have lower bioavailability, which is relevant if you binge, but not for the first glass Sugar doesn't sneak out the way alcohol does, and many alcoholic beverages have sugar (added sugar or naturally in the source material), not just alcohol for calories. Sugar and alcohol have the same carbohydrate precursors, and sometimes alcohol is made from sugar, like grape wine. Alcohol also slows metabolism, so it reduces your calorie burn rate compared to an hour spent sober. https://www.seriouseats.com/cocktail-science-do-alcohol-calories-count-digesting-spirits. |
The unit of alcohol consumption is the drink, not the day. Drinks per day vary from person to person and day to day. |
I had this same question for ice cream. Any thoughts? |
Only if your cortisol levels are normal. If not all bets are off. |
I stopped drinking this year and didn’t lose an ounce. Haha
But I lost a lot of puffiness and swollen face and health wise it was a good move for me. |
People often make up wine calories in other ways, particularly sugar. |
Yes because it’s a sugar addiction too so your body craves it bad when you give it up. It’s hard to just stop and 100% eat perfectly healthy. |
JFC the internet has created a generation of absolute morons. |
From OP - thanks for all your kind support and comments |
In a dish yes, in a cone no because of all the calories your tongue burns. |
Absolutely. And also, alcohol turns to sugar in your blood so it's basically packing fat onto your hips with every sip. Those pear shaped women? Wine drinkers, the lot of them. And also, it's scarring your liver. And probably ruining your metabolism. |
