I'm sorry. I'm struggling too, at 53 having had psych meds destroy my metabolism. Before them, I was a model and didn't weigh enough to give blood, now I'm obese and on Wegovy. Sorry your doc wouldn't prescribe it for you -- at that height being 40lbs overweight I would think another doctor would prescribe for you. You might look into it. I've only been on it two weeks, but I'm already down 6lbs. It's not a walk in the park though. |
you mean price |
So simple! Why do you think people struggle to do it, since it’s so easy? |
If our government was ever concerned about our obesity epidemic, addictive poisonous additives would be illegal. |
NP- The pens are a bit of a gimmick. Syringes are easy to use and so cheap. |
+1 OP doesn’t understand marketing, manufacturing, or economics. ![]() |
Use one of the online services that work with insurance: The doctors there only consult for this and will give you a prescription because you so clearly qualify! |
Except that the active agreement is not provided by Novo - so who knows where they are getting it from. |
Tell that to the two-thirds of Americans who are overweight or obese. I guess they're all bad at math. |
I've been on medication since I was 14 for a brain injury. The medication makes me fat. I eat healthy, never more than 1400 calories and run 3-5 miles a week. This is not a calories in/calories out situation - some people have issues. But, since you want to discuss simple math - if x people are fat, and y people are insulting those people - which people are the a-holes? |
Anyone who says "simple math" is an idiot. |
Do not take this doc's word as final. Many many otherwise conservative mainstream docs are prescribing these drugs. If you have a BMI of 27 and another comorbidity (A1c, hi BP, hi cholesterol, etc) insurance should pay for Wegovy (which is exactly the same as Ozempic but higher dose). Your doc may actually be wrong not to prescribe it for you. Take charge of your health. |
They are overweight or obese because they are consuming too many calories. There are exceptions to this of course like medications causing weight gain. Cut the calories and lose the weight. Most people don’t have the willpower to do this. |
Willpower is a bit of a myth. Everyone is not equal when it comes to food, appetite, cravings, hormones...So what is a level 2/10 difficulty for you is a 10/10 difficulty for another person. You don't get a pat on the back because you have it easier. All the drugs do is put that person at the same level as you. |
