Why do people need drugs to lose weight? It's pretty simple math.
No it's not. As a 62 year old female who is only 4' 10" with genetics like crazy for diabetes losing weight is not just not eating and exercise. That does not move the needle. I just tried metformin it made me very sick so I stopped. But I am 40 lbs over weight and i have tried everything nothing works. It sucks. I know others are struggling way more than 40 lbs so I should not complain. My doctor would not prescribe ozempric and I am miserable.
Do not take this doc's word as final. Many many otherwise conservative mainstream docs are prescribing these drugs. If you have a BMI of 27 and another comorbidity (A1c, hi BP, hi cholesterol, etc) insurance should pay for Wegovy (which is exactly the same as Ozempic but higher dose). Your doc may actually be wrong not to prescribe it for you. Take charge of your health.
