| JC Penney has the widest selection of girls’ dresses I have seen at any of the brick and mortar stores. Windsor had a surprising amount of more modest/school event appropriate dresses than I expected. |
| Amazon actually has some nice dresses. Search for girls dresses. |
| I would try Macys first. If she’s a tall 5th grader she could probably wear either juniors or a kids size, so it will help to go to a store that has a decent selection of both. |
|
I think you can find a very nice dress at Macy's or JC Penney's. No need to spend the money at Nordstrom or that boutique posted above where things are $100.
Good luck in your search! Remember, 5th grade girls look wonderful regardless of what they're wearing.

| What's your budget? I also have a 10 year old. We needed special occasion dresses recently and found them at Nordstrom Rack. There were tons of choices and plenty under $50. |
| Nordstrom juniors department. They have nice dresses and they will have some on sale - often for as low as $20. You have to be patient and weed through some crap to find the nice ones. |
This was my suggestion on the other thread. It’s hard to give suggestions without knowing your budget and kids style. My 11yo DD would hate wearing a dress. I also would have her wear something we already owned and save my money for an actual Graduation |

Here are some ideas for what Nordstrom has. Don’t bother paying full price - look for the ones on sale (they have more sale items on racks in the store often):

Budget?
Macy’s will probably be your best option. They have a lot to choose from and prices are reasonable. |
| Also check out lulus online. Great for dresses. An xs woman’s dress might fit a teen or older tween. |
Macy's has a great sale section with really cute dresses! |
Agreed -- plus Kohl's, TJ Maxx or Marshall's. Have fun! |
I've literally found $100+ reduced to $15 at Macy's - that takes luck and time - but that's where I'd start. BTW SES isn't that relevant here - I don't like spending money on things the kid is going to wear once or twice. |
Agree with this. We found some dresses online from Macy's that were significantly discounted (like less than $50) and nice enough that she could wear again for other things. |
