Truly hypoallergenic earrings?

Poor kid. She just has sensitive skin overall, she reacts hugely to bug bites and sunburns even with olive skin when the rest of the family tans.

Have the earrings you tried all been studs? For me, not only do the earrings have to be gold or titanium, but my ears can’t handle studs. Something about that round piece that goes in the back to hold the stud in place just doesn’t work for my ears. I have some nice diamond studs that I can only wear for a few hours at a time (so special occasions only) before my ears start to swell. One of my kids has this issue too, interestingly the other does not. Might be something for you to look into.

Are hoops better ?

Try 24K. Pure gold is chemically inert.

I get reactions from 14K. I can tolerate 18K. You won't get a large selection for 24K, but you should be able to find some...

They don't make jewelry from 24k; it's too soft.

But I do agree with this poster. Try 18k and above. I can't wear 14k either.

We’ve tried hoops and studs. I think 18c gold too but I’ll try it again. Always nickel free.

I buy the birthstone sets for a bit of variety.

These kind are sterile surgical steel. They work for me.

My ears are also very sensitive. They get very tender, infected and pus on them. I recently got a set of second piercings at a tattoo parlor and I got titanium earrings. They have been perfect. I also only wear gold earrings.

I can wear 18k gold or titanium. Anything else make my ears blow up like balloons.

I buy 18k hoops on Etsy. I have wire-thin hoops in a few sizes — teensy huggers and 2 sizes up. They kind of lock in place and never budge. Shower, swim, etc. I don’t even think about them once in. Getting them in and latched can be a bit tricky, but the seller provided videos that made it easy; once done a couple times it’s not a big deal.

Yes, hoops or anything else that has a hinge or a lever back (I had to look these up as I didn’t know these terms).

She’s almost 12 and has had her ears pierced for almost 5 years so it isn’t a new healing issue.

WWE figured out its copper that our dd is allergic to, and it's in most things. For earnings, titanium and surgical steel are it.

14k or 18k.

Have you tried putting Neosporin on the post before putting it through her ear? I only wear earrings infrequently because of irritation and this helps!

Many people react to Neosporin. That could cause more problems.

I posted earlier about titanium and plastic from Blomdahl. My daughter is the exact same way (right down to getting sunburn when the rest of us are tanning). One thing to consider for titanium earrings is that it may not be the earrings, it could be the backings. My daughter's ears didn't heal after wearing the flat back earrings from the piercing shop for months, so we tried a few things and landed on Blomdahl and an Etsy shop. Both of those shops send metal and plastic backings for each pair of earrings and we only use the plastic backings. Her ears are doing great now. I have no idea if it was the backings or just that the earrings from the piercing shop weren't medical grade titanium, but she can now wear earrings for weeks at a time and she seems to be all healed up.

Titanium earrings with plastic backs is what my DD does. We’ve had luck with the Limerencia shop on Amazon.

Me again, she can't wear 14k, 18k, or even 22k gold, studs or hoops. We tried them all.
