Thank you!! I’ve wondered about the backings and that may be the issue - though I would think the flat backings from the piercing place would be titanium too but maybe not? I’ll check out your recommendations. |
Wow, that’s so interesting. I do find my girls have less reaction to tiny hoops (Huggies). We have them in 18 ct gold and titanium (Swarovski brand, with the tiny crystal diamonds). |
I can only wear real gold earrings or decent quality dangly earrings with thin wires and light weight. |
I haven't tried titanium, but 18 ct gold and sterling silver work for me. Anything else and I get an ear infection. |
Have you tried niobium or surgical steel? I've had luck with those. There are some Etsy shops and other online sellers that have cute options.
When younger, I had small hoops and French hooks I'd use to attach gemstones or other 'dangly' things to make them more interesting. |
If you can, find 22k gold. I'm Indian, that's a typical level there, the gold is very soft and it's truly hypoallergenic. I never take those pieces off, like I've literally worn my chain and bracelets for 20 years, and they are in perfect condition and never irritate. |
Earrings by Emma has plastic posts. My girls wear them with no trouble.
https://earringsbyemma.com/ I've had luck with Zen Lady's surgical grade titanium. https://thezenlady.com/jewelry.html |
Thank you for these links. I just ordered some earrings for my daughter from Earrings by Emma. It’s hard to find cute earrings that at least attempt to be hypoallergenic. |
DP but thanks for posting Earrings by Emma, super cute! |
Humans have worn 24K gold jewelry from the moment they figured out how to make wearables from gold. Here's a website: https://auvere.com |
