UT Austin is a diverse campus. The enrolled student population at The University of Texas at Austin is 36.7% White, 24.2% Hispanic or Latino, 20.6% Asian, 4.33% Black or African American, 3.67% Two or More Races, 0.0962% American Indian or Alaska Native, and 0.0539% Native Hawaiian or Other Pacific Islanders. |
It's also 57% female to 43% male. I think their work here is done. |
There is a lot of dead wood jobs on college campuses today that simply drive up the cost of tuition. I have a lot of friends who work at Div I colleges who are not professors and are in support roles and they simply seem to travel around the US and the world to attend conferences. They don't do anything with students. |
Agree. I’m not white but I recognize that DEI initiatives are usually a waste of money. |
Awesome, many more need to do the same. |
Love to see. DEI and test optional can be seatmates on the bus ride to oblivion. |
Does anyone think the private universities in TX will be compelled to follow suit? |
Couldn’t possibly agree more! Overpaid, under-qualified goons doing nothing constructive to advance the worthy DEI aims - I mean, other than drawing paychecks and maligning certain groups. |
+1 and ❤️ |
I was just at 2 Florida state universities over Spring Break and there’s much more diversity there than the schools in the Midwest. |
That’s how I feel about academic affairs. Hope they get rid of it. |
DEI is a grift. |
Amen.
I really hope other universities follow suit. |
Tell us more about these roles |
Your hateful comments towards the concept of diversity, equity and inclusion are hurtful to me as a minority. Which, ironically, proves the reason we need DEI workers because far too many white people and their allies are openly and privately hostile to diverse groups, which is why they have to fight for equity and inclusion. |
