March SAT results?

Wow. Dc got 1150, they are kind of shocked. Debating about whether just to walk away or prep to try to improve. I would hate to spend so much time and then not even submit.

Has your kid done any prep so far? How does that compare to the PSAT?

I hate knowing about it, but not being able to look. I must allow my kid to look first. Ack!

no prep, was planning on doing it now and retake in May and June. PSAT was 1110. They knew they got the harder module on both and thought that would give a bump. Have worked very hard this year in AP precal and done extra math tutoring 2x a week so thought that would give more bump.

You never know......

You are right! English was up 60 points. Beyond the kid's goal! Happy camper.

A lot of what my kid got out of prep was more experience with SAT types of questions and learning how to approach the questions. There are some that are going to be a time suck, so learning to flag them and come back when the guaranteed correct questions are answered helps.

DC sent a screenshot of the report from the phone app. Interesting to see that school's average was over 1400. Going to be a lot of happy kids there today. I don't think they reported school level stats when our other kids took it.

The US average on this sitting was 1166.

So, my kid did much better in English but much worse in Math than she did in the fall. The overall score from the fall was better by 40 points. Can we take colleges at their word when they say they superscore? Should we report both so they see the higher English from this test, even though the math dropped by 60 from the fall?

DC's English score was significantly lower than the practice tests. Got 710 on the real test but consistently 740-760 on the practice tests. They got a 790 on math though!

Yes, because schools also want to report the highest possible averages themselves, so super scores help them too.

FWIW, my kid was the same: much better in English, but 40 points worse in math.

Click all the way through - it was posted though no email was received and there wasn’t any kind of banner in the college board app announcing a new score. Go to the page for scores. It was there by 8:03. Maybe you kid’s will be there too.

My DS from NOVA public school did worse than expected based on practice scores, especially on math. Total was 1430, so can’t really complain. Said math was much harder than expected and it showed in the score. About 80-90 points lower than practice on math.

My kid dropped a ton in math too. So strange. But others on here aced the math. So can’t blame test.

For tests March 4-15 they come out April 4

For tests March 18-29 they come out April 18

Is it just me, or does it seem like digital test scores should be available a lot sooner than a month later?
