Really low appetite on semaglutide- what to eat?

Breakfast was yogurt and meat and egg and avocodo? Or that's what you ate all day with a salad for dinner? If you tried to eat all of that for breakfast, of course you felt badly (I think anyone would, meds or not).

The goal of the med is to reduce your appetite so I'd generally just go with it. Yogurt and berries for breakfast should be fine.

I drink a ton of water and do the following:

Breakfast - a siggis yogurt or egg whites with blueberries

Lunch - salad with grilled chicken or homemade soup

Dinner - lean protein like chicken or samon and roasted veg. Or a small portion of high protein pasta, stir fry, whatever we’d usually eat

Small snack - sometimes pretzels if I’m nauseated

The breakfast you describe does not sound small.

My sister is on a low dose and can hardly eat. She seems to be wasting away. She takes hours to drink a large protein shake from GNC -- some type of caffeine + 40g protein chocolate thing. A few small bites of food (processed, usually) at meals and throughout the day. And that seems to be it. It's really hard to watch her do this to herself.

My diet on semaglutides is very similar. I've tried variations of this for years, but what's different this time is that the taste is satisfying and I'm satiated. I don't even feel the urge to snack. I used to love burgers but now the idea of one is like 'meh'. I don't know what the long-term looks like, but I do know what the 'here and now' looks like and it feels good. Hopefully, part of this journey is me building good habits for the long-term.

That's a huge breakfast - that would be my breakfast and lunch. Better to try for smaller meals. Overeating definitely makes me queasy, and I have not otherwise been queasy. I usually have a full fat yogurt (one of the french ones in the glass jars) and coffee with milk for breakfast. Sometimes a whole wheat english muffin with almond butter and sliced banana. For lunch I usually have leftovers, or low fat microwavable mac and cheese (because it's fast), or a slice of bread with melted cheese and apple slices.

Wasting away? Is she underweight according to her BMI?

Anonymous wrote:I can only eat 2 meals a day. Which is probably why I've lost 40 pounds in the last year. I prioritize protein, electrolyte water and then just eat whatever I want/can. For me, it's like forced intermittent fasting, but without any hunger or cravings. I feel the best I've felt in decades.

Even constantly nauseated?

Why do you think she is constantly nauseated? Not everyone experiences nausea, and for those who do, it typically comes at certain times, like dosage changes or after eating too much or unhealthy foods. I have not experienced nausea at all.

I’ve never been nauseated. I had some heart burn at first but mild and only a few days. The side effects for me have been pretty nonexistent

Because everyone is constantly nauseated on these drugs?

But that isn’t true. I have not been nauseated at all.

Same. Been on Wegovy and Mournjaro, never been nauseous. A few episodes of diarrhea, but only at the beginning. My only real side effect is constant coldness. I have an electric blanket in every room.

Wasting away? what does she weigh. This sounds dramatic.

It really wasn’t. It was about half a cup of plain yogurt (80 calories) 2 oz of ground turkey (90 calories) and one egg (70 calories) and 1 tbsp of guac (30 calories)
