Really low appetite on semaglutide- what to eat?

Anonymous
I have a really low appetite and I’m on an extremely low dose. For meals I’m trying to get protein in. For breakfast I had greek yogurt, ground turkey and an egg and a little avocado and feel stuffed. What are some foods I can eat that won’t make me super full? dinner is usually a salad and some protein.

All of those are filling foods so it’s no wonder you’re stuffed.

If I had low appetite I would focus on fruits and vegetables and build those around proteins. So mix spinach in your eggs and have an apple for breakfast.

Yogurt with a mix of berries for lunch.

Salad with different colored vegetables and a protein for dinner.

A little healthy fat in all of them.

Just focus on protein, then fiber. Drink lots of water.

When I was in early stages, I had a lot of hard boiled eggs, tofu, egg bites, cottage cheese. I was nauseated by the thought of most anything else.

Prioritize vegetables over fruit.

I can only eat 2 meals a day. Which is probably why I've lost 40 pounds in the last year. I prioritize protein, electrolyte water and then just eat whatever I want/can. For me, it's like forced intermittent fasting, but without any hunger or cravings. I feel the best I've felt in decades.

Oh. And I'm on a low dose, too.

What dose are you on? I’m on .25mg/.1mL compounded

A lot of posts warn to drink lots of water. Of course, this is never bad advice. But why do I see it so often? Is it to avoid constipation, or is there some other factor driving the recommendation?

.5. And I take it every 14 days. I'm just maintaining now. I'll probably experiment with going down a dose next time I see my doctor or if I start to lose weight.

I think it is to help with constipation issues.

Well I mean, that’s actually a lot of food so it’s not surprising you’re full. I think the key is to try to pack nutrition into your meals so eggs anre good, but butters, salmon and other fatty fish. Etc. Anyway I went through a patch of being unable to really eat and found smoothies were the answer. Frozen bananas make them creamy. I add almond milk the banana and chocolate protein powder sometimes with a tb of almond butter. I also added fiber to this. Even now this is my go to breakfast.

Low sodium turkey breast - I get the one from Trader Joe's. Fair life chocolate protein shakes. Hard boiled eggs. Chicken breast/chicken salad.
