Is 50+ too old to wear tights / yoga pants out in public?

Never too old. When we visit my great aunt in assisted living, it seems like half the residents are rocking leggings. Comfy and convenient!

+1 I'm 58 and SO glad I have no more f@$ks to give about shlt like this. Don't like what I'm wearing? Don't like how I look? I don't give a f@$k. Don't look.

Leggings are not pants. I will die on this hill.

Important distinction - Running/athletic/yoga tights are not leggings, and the whole leggings are not pants came about when leggings were commonly see through. If i can’t actually see your underwear (VPL doesn’t count), then legging away.

Oh please. They’re leggings. They don’t need to be “see through” for everyone to see the crack of your @$$ and your camel toe. Which everyone most certainly can.

Oh, honey, no one is looking at a 50+ year old. Invisibility has its privileges

But I’m also with PP who points out we don’t give a f@ck

What on earth are “hiking tights?”

I wear leggings as pants all the time. They are comfortable and a mainstream look now. I say go for it if you like the look and feel comfortable.

Depends what you look like

Of course you can! My mom is 80 and it’s all she wears.

As long as they are not skin tight and you have a long shirt to cover your butt I think it looks good. It’s the women who wear skin tight leggings and a yoga bra and that’s it, Not attractive.

Tights go under dresses.

I'm a 48 yr old fitness instructor and wear my yoga pants to work, to the store, to the sandwich shop for lunch, etc. I don't care if people have a problem with it.

Pretty much this. Wear what you want. Who gives a flying fig what other people might think?

+1. 58 yo PP with no more f@$ks to give here. Only my DH looks at my "crack and camel toe" any more. Not only is he fine with me wearing leggings and pick shorts, my teens/young adults are fine with it.

Even if I did have f@$ks left, why would I care what you think?
