I just got these amazing hiking tights and I would love to wear them out shopping and such, but am I too old (55) to do so? I would have a somewhat long coat covering them up a bit and they are not skin tight. I usually wear jeans, so it's a different style for me. |
No, wear what is comfortable and suitable for the weather and occasion. |
Of course you can. Everyone does. Whether they look good or not. I frankly hate the look but everything and anything goes these days. |
I think any age older than middle school is too old to wear tights/yoga pants in public (unless we are talking for some sort of yoga or other exercise class or running or biking or something).
Leggings are not pants. I will die on this hill. |
Go for it. Be comfortable. Just get shirts that are longer to cover up your rear. |
JLo is 54. You gonna tell her that she can't wear yoga pants in public?
Wear them! Life is short, wear what you want. |
9 is too old for that. |
Please keep on the trails or in the yoga studio. |
Not too old |
Wear them!!! I'm 56 and run daily so I'm in them. That's what's great about the 50s- who cares! |
I'm 51 and wear leggings out occasionally. Usually only if I'm going to exercise later or I am walking my dog or I am on my way to/from yoga.
But who cares, really, what others think? My vote is that if you like them, wear them! |
Who cares what others think?? |
Yeah, really. Just do whatever you want, no matter how tacky or unappealing. |
Important distinction - Running/athletic/yoga tights are not leggings, and the whole leggings are not pants came about when leggings were commonly see through. If i can’t actually see your underwear (VPL doesn’t count), then legging away. |
Fine (assuming they aren’t see-through). |
