Bad people get theirs eventually

I was thinking this myself....a whole life of evil and he's still free and worshiped by some.

There is a Psalm that asks “why do the wicked prosper?” I find myself praying it a lot these days. My organization placed a political appointee who is incompetent and vengeful to lead my whole department. I ended up requesting a lateral transfer after she bullied me. I had to relearn a whole new set of skills. She drove my disabled colleague out of the department as well. So far she is still there. A lot of people will privately talk about how they don’t like her but any fantasy I had about her getting hers is not going to happen. I look at incompetent immoral politicians, people with questionable business practices and I just do not know. I don’t see a lot of Justice being meted out.

When I think about the bits of bad things others do in daily life, I also want to hope that there is some sort of karma for them.

But then I see the harm some of the world leaders of our time like BN, VP and DT, have done, deliberately hurting people left and right, without consequence, then I’m thinking my hopes of karma are fairly unfounded.

Sorry OP, I would like to offer encouragement but the last three years of world events alone make me think otherwise.

We can still try to be the best we can towards others though, because we are still able to tell the difference.

It seems like in some organizations bad incompetent people get promoted and others held accountable for their misdeeds. Ha, like Trump - how many of those close to him ended up in jail so far? He will not be jailed - ever. Some people are above the law and nothing bad will ever happen to them.

So karma for her could come in many forms. The most straightforward would be if she loses her job and the next place she works she is on the receiving end of her bullying type of behavior.

Her karma may appear in an unrelated way, which makes me hopeful about bad people I encounter that seem to be unscathed. What I mean is she may continue to succeed at work but her marriage could fall apart, her health could go downhill, seemingly random tragedies can happen to her too. Give it time.

I don't believe in karma. Some people will never acknowledge or face a reckoning for the things they do. Plenty of people skating by and doing well regardless of their bad deeds.

Justice is not meted out in a karmic way when children get cancer, or murdered or die in freak accidents. Bad things happen to good people. Balance is not restored in the universe. And bad people literally get away with murder.

Thank you.

I honestly can’t understand why otherwise rational people fail to get this. Babies die in excruciating pain of bone cancer. Millions of children have lived their entire (brief) lives in slavery, only to die of malaria or smallpox before their 10th birthday. Kind, caring people are diagnosed with life-ending degenerative diseases like ALS while they’re raising young children.

Meanwhile, plenty of Saudi princes and tech billionaires rape children and commit murder while living in unfathomable luxury. And those people often have friends, family, etc., and are just as likely to be “truly happy” as anyone else in terms of the stuff that doesn’t cost money.

Don’t delude yourself into thinking it all evens out—at least as far as our known, rational existence and universe are concerned.

In my experience, yes they do.

I guess the karma believers that the children must suffer so that the Princes bad deeds are evened out. It's demented thinking.

I don’t believe it. I think sometimes the bullies win and that’s life. I don’t let it bother me though.

I agree with you, it seems hopeless. It's like little personal experiences often seem karmic but big picture, national stage does not present fair. We don't know about behind the scenes but I don't think bad people feel guilt and often good people feel guilt they don't deserve (wanting to carry the world on their shoulders). There is still a lot of child abuse, slavery, and thinking I deserve my good tidings because I'm kind is ridiculous.

Okay, to clarify this, it does bother me. But I don’t let it make me bitter. There are still lots of wonderful things about life and I believe that most people are good.

Look, being "good" doesn't "protect" you from "bad things". Bad things do happen to good people, average people, all people.

AND I have also seen that what goes around, comes around. People put things out there that, in time, come around and bite them in the a$$. I have seen it time and time again.

I'm not talking about kids with cancer. I'm talking things like cheating and then being cheated on, or sand bagging a colleague who ends up being your boss, or needing a favor from someone you've wronged, or otherwise just reaping what you've sown. Stealing a husband only to find out, huh, what do you know, behind closed doors he is an abusive jerk just like his ex wife always said! It happens.

I had somebody scr#w me over in a real estate situation. Within a year the house BURNED TO THE GROUND. Not kidding.

You believe what you want, I'm going with "karma is real" and NOT screwing people over.

Karma is real except all the times it isn't. OK. It's mythical child like thinking.
