Really? It says 1-3” on Friday night.

We are in the far west and I just see wintry mix for the middle of the night. That won't stick, so 9 am and onwards on Saturday should be perfectly safe.

FCPS has closed for rain on weekends. If it was a Monday, I'd agree with you, but the bar for closing on a weekend is basically a slight chance of something maybe happening

No, they have closed for predictions that may or may not have been accurate. But you are being inaccurate. Unhelpful.

This summer, they closed and cancelled basketball tournaments for rain.

I think this title should be edited. I opened up the forum and almost had a heart attack.

Ugh. If any weather happens, it will be melted and gone by the time activities start. Please don't overreact, FCPS! We are still trying to reschedule all the other cancellations this season.

Dude, please edit the title. You are going to jinx it. No way should activities be canceled on Sat for a 2 am wintry mix that won't even stick.

They closed after school activities on a Tuesday this winter for wind + rain. My kid had to miss a practice because of it. Not sure about weekends, but they've definitely closed over a forecast of rain, if it's the right kind of rain forecast.

This IS FCPS we’re talking about!

Any guesses for the rec centers?

FCPS should not cancel this weekend. What a nightmare for all the kids and organizers. I am sick of these cancelations. If they have to do something, it should be a delay. Then only those very early games need to get rescheduled.

Rec centers usually don’t close unless there’s actually significant snow/ice.

Yep, because those are used by adults.

Bingo. Amazing how we decide so easily that kids' experiences don't matter.

That would suck, my younger child has already had two basketball games cancelled so far and they don't reschedule the younger kids for some reason.

It will be a non-event. I hope they don't cancel.
