FCPS School Activities Canceled on Saturday

Am fully expecting another Saturday with the schools closed with the chance for snow on the horizon. Such a bummer too with competitions and sports going on all weekend.

basketball leagues are running out of days with gym space. It will be interesting to see where they cram in makeup days

My weather app says a chance of snow flurries for about an hour at 3 am on Saturday morning and we are in the far western burbs. Come on, no one reasonable would cancel voluntary activities for that.

They won't close, the forecast is basically nothing. There is cautious, and there is ridiculous. This would be ridiculous.

Same. I just spent three hours working on our referee schedule for our house league for Sat and Sun. The forecast shows basically nothing?

Really? It says 1-3” on Friday night.

We are in the far west and I just see wintry mix for the middle of the night. That won't stick, so 9 am and onwards on Saturday should be perfectly safe.

Community house basketball leagues are run 100% by volunteers. Dealing with FCPS gym issues should be paid b/c it is such a hassle, but people actually do this for free, for other people's kids.
